What is Acupuncture?
The Art of Acupuncture, an art has been used over thousands of years, believe that inside our bodies are many channels or pathways, where life-energy known as, Qi flows. It is most commonly known as a procedure used in which specific body areas are pierced with fine needles for therapeutic purposes, to relieve pain, or produce regional anesthesia, alleviating physical, mental, and emotional conditions.
In acupuncture, there is a common knowledge of Qi-Energy. Qi, is the energy or life force that contains the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual elements of life and can be related to yin and yang . Qi Energy allows the body to function at 100% capacity, once meridians (channels in which Qi energy flows) are flowing, but can be blocked due to poor diet, physical trauma, medications, stress, genetic conditions, environmental factors, or even emotional issues. When Qi cannot flow, the channels, otherwise known as meridians, are blocked. Yin and yang become unbalanced, thus illness occurs.
Therefore, acupuncture is used to unblock the meridians, thus allowing Qi energy to flow throughout the body. Within the human body, there are over 1,000 acupuncture points. When the energy of one's body cannot flow throughout the body, bodily functions do not function at 100% capacity. Acupuncture allows the body to free the blocked meridians, allowing the body to function better than before, at 100%.
At Acupuncture of America, Bakersfield Wellbeing Biomedical Center, the treatment you receive will be based upon an Eastern medical diagnosis and acupuncture points will be regulated accordingly. Acupuncture differs from different cases such as treatment from only one needle at a certain location supplemented by machines, to many needles in a variety of location without feeling any pain.
